Assignment

  • Step one: View the image below and with your team members generate some questions. Look at the image and use the words in your graphic organizer to describe the picture and the emotions that you feel when you view it. Write down any questions you may have about the picture.
  • Step two:  Do some research on the people who were involved in this historic event.  Use the resources on both sides of this column.  Click on the video of the actual event and then read the articles in the History in Context Database and the PBS Primary Sources web site.  Each person in your team will be assigned a person or event to research.  When team members come together, they will share the information that was collected.
  • Step three:  Read Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech and listen to his words by clicking on the links to the right of this column.
  • Step four:  Create a Glog using images and words.  You will choose one quote from the speech and illustrate that quote with a comment, a picture and a question.  This step is an individual assignment. An example of a Glog is on Ms. Ciofolo's web page.
